Norma Young is a print and broadcast journalist, and author of the book We Need More Tables – Navigating privilege in the face of poverty. She studied at the Durban University of Technology and has worked for media houses across the country including O, The Oprah Magazine, South Africa, eNCA and Ndalo Media. Her writing has been published by City Press, Mail & Guardian, Sawubona, True Love, Acumen, Destiny, Al Jazeera and Quartz amongst others. Though she has been living in land-locked Johannesburg for almost two decades, she remains a beach-loving Durbanite at heart.
