Timothy McLaughlin

Timothy McLaughlin is a journalist based in Hong Kong. His reporting focus on politics and the intersection between technology and societal change across Asia. He has reported from half a dozen foreign countries, including India, Vietnam and Indonesia and was previously a correspondent for Reuters news agency based in Yangon, Myanmar and Chicago. He was a finalist for the 2019 Livingston Award for International Reporting for stories published by WIRED examining the roles of WhatsApp and Facebook in communal violence.
