While Facebook’s primary focus has always been on its home country in the United States, it has also led an aggressive effort to build user bases around the world, with astonishing success and growth. In fact, in many countries, Facebook essentially is the internet, with communication, commerce, and public discourse occurring through the company’s various apps. With that exponential growth has come misinformation, moderation failures, labor disputes, and other problems.
