We’re excited to share that Russell Brandom will join Rest of World as our U.S. Tech Editor.

Russell is a talented editor who comes to us from The Verge, where he led that publication’s policy desk. Russell started at The Verge in 2012 as a reporter focused on cybersecurity and tech regulation. In addition to generating scoops and writing definitive trend pieces, he published a number of high profile features during his time at The Verge. 

Here at Rest of World, Russell will lead our coverage of how big, U.S.-based tech firms such as Apple, Amazon, and Meta operate outside the West. He’ll be paying special attention to how these companies impact users, and how they navigate increasingly hostile regulatory environments. Russell will also be launching a brand new newsletter to track those companies for Rest of World.
