Co-Founder, Koo

Aprameya Radhakrishna is the co-founder of Koo, a microblogging platform which competes with Twitter by focusing on local-language speakers in India, a country with more than 20 official languages. Koo, which was launched in November 2019, came into the spotlight in 2021 when Twitter resisted taking down content that did not sit well with the Indian government. In June 2021, when the Nigerian government banned Twitter, Koo positioned itself as a substitute, prompting several local politicians, including President Muhammadu Buhari, to open accounts on Koo.
