Danielle Andrade, who goes by the name of Cherna, is a 22-year-old Brazilian Rainbow Six Siege esports player. She founded the Brazilian Female Gaming Association, the first Brazilian NGO created to protect women in the country’s gaming market. While women make up almost half the gamer population, nearly half of them have experienced gender discrimination in the booming esports industry, including Andrade herself. After falling victim to sexual, misogynistic, and racist online harassment, Andrade decided to set up the association to support fellow women gamers. After being the only woman nominated to the Brazilian Esports prize in 2018, she went on to win the Queen of Hearts, the Circuito Feminino Greenk, and the Circuito Feminino XP esports tournaments in 2019.
