Samrawit Fikru did not use a computer until she was 17, but that did not stop her from building Ride, an application that offers Ethiopians safe and affordable transport arrangements with well-equipped taxi drivers. Previously a software developer, Samrawit’s focus on Ride came from her own experiences of the difficulties of arranging transport after work. With few women in the Ethiopian tech industry, Samrawit’s Ride has a 90% female staff, serving as a role model for generations to come.
